Cheers for that, trying to avoid hotels at the mo but that's not too far away from Shoreditch which is where we want to be.

What is your budget per person per night ? I just stayed with the bf for around 25pppn. :)

Must it be an apartment ?

Been looking at apartments, it's probably because we want to stay near shoreditch so pretty central. Don't really want the hassle of trying to get back to some place 10 miles out. Went a few years ago, the train that was supposed to go for 15 stops went for 3 and chucked everyone off. Ended up in the middle of London, no taxi's no idea how to get a bus back to where we were staying, ended up paying getting a fake taxi to take us for £40!

Found one apartment that sleeps 4, £115 a night +VAT. Turns out tho, if you want it to actually sleep 4 you need to pay a 40+VAT nightly charge for the sofabed!

I did a search for you for Shoreditch. The apartments seem to be mostly gone. They do seem to exist though.

Family room at 144.

Have you tried Citidine's ?

I think if you are a bit more flexible on the other locations, then you can indeed possibly get a more comfy place on the discounts using sites like bookings.com. As we also managed to get a Best Western Park hotel for under 50 pounds near Heathrow. But for us, it means we had to rejuggle our plans to make it fit, which is kind of fine by us. It can be that bit possible.

You need to use the Night Bus which is what everyone does. Yes, it is quite bad in a way, but that is the way to go. I would also maybe opt for a hotel rather than an apartment, and you may actually get a better deal that way too. Plus also consider these chain hotels in an obscure location. As in the office building areas which nobody stays during the night, as everyone wants to be nearer to the night life.

The reason why we seem to manage to get that Heathrow place, even though the name is Heathrow hotel, but it actually was in Hounslow. It actually gets little business because everyone wants to be so much closer to Heathrow itself. If you are a car owner, then this is feasible. But we took the tube at night, and then a local cab to the airport in the morning.

It actually also pays to know a local cab firm too. Cos otherwise, other firms can indeed charge you SO much more which is a con.

Try these links too.

lateroom.com

venere.com

lastminute.com

They normally are very good to throw up very late discounted pricings.

Thanks Salsa. Was considering looking further afield as even the cheap hotels are expensive, but a kind friend has offered to put us up.
