LeMaquis   10 #2 Posted February 18, 2014 There are plenty of buses to Totley along London Road and Abbeydale Road. I don't know how far it would be to walk from there.
 Share this content via...
Andy C Â Â 86 #3 Posted February 18, 2014 Where in Dore do you need to be? Â Other options include: route 65 or 272 to Dore Moor and walk down Causeway Head Road route 97, 98 or 218 to Dore station and walk up Dore Road train to Dore station and walk up Dore Road. Â In terms of action from First, the best you can expect would be to extend the scheduled journey time to reflect the traffic problems, I don't think demand for bus travel in Dore is high enough to justify any extra services. vizzbucks   10 #5 Posted February 20, 2014 I work in Dore and regularly have to get the 70 First bus every morning from Ecclesall Road. Due to the traffic on Brocco Bank this is almost always late.  My other choice is the get the earlier service, which arrives 40 mins before my office opens (not great if raining or snowing). I've tried to talk to First Buses about the issue, and the fact that the service doesn't operate as it should (buses either get in Dore for 8.10am or 9.05am, neither of which are any good.) but they've just ignored my e-mails or fobbed me off with the "we take all letters/e-mails on board" line.  Is there any reason the Dore service operates on this routes or any alternatives people can think of? Has anyone had any success talking with First?  You say on the first line that "due to the traffic on Brocco Bank this is almost always late", i'm not sure what you expect First to do about it. If they alter the times, it will still be late because of the volume of traffic. Remember, First don't make up the timetables, its the PTE that set times etc
 Share this content via...

Pretty much every service, barring the needless and wasteful "high frequency" routes suffer exactly the same issues.
 Share this content via...
MissJP Â Â 13 #7 Posted February 20, 2014 You could catch the 98 to Totley Brook Terminus. Its a 10 minute walk up to Dore Village. I think they run every 20 mins or so.
 Share this content via...
