swordfish1   10 #2 Posted February 18, 2014 It's Fitzwilliam & West I thought. And yes, closed by the council  http://uncategorised.com/2014/02/18/rip-fitzwilliam-and-west/
 Share this content via...
No User Name   10 #3 Posted February 18, 2014 Sorry, how did the "council" close them down? Non-payment of business rates? The article isnt very clear.
 Share this content via...
Clown Shoes   10 #4 Posted February 18, 2014 Ive never really understood the appeal of that place. Its tiny with an awful layout, restricted by space.  They have done well with their marketing though as its really expensive but usually full of people who cant really afford to drink.  I dont like to see independent business closing but the fact that they rebranded and opened under a different name but had the same owners may have something to do with it. LeMaquis   10 #5 Posted February 18, 2014 It's Fitzwilliam & West I thought. And yes, closed by the council  http://uncategorised.com/2014/02/18/rip-fitzwilliam-and-west/  There's a notice on the door saying they ceased trading yesterday (Monday 17th) and that creditors should contact some administrators or such for their money. So it doesn't look like the council closed them down but that they decided to close themselves down.
 Share this content via...
No User Name   10 #6 Posted February 18, 2014 So that blog is indulging in a bit of Council-bashing for the sake of it then.  Although I am sure that business rates will be one of the creditors.
 Share this content via...
plepton   10 #7 Posted February 18, 2014 I was contacted by insolvency firm on their behalf yesterday to say that my wedding deposit paid a week ago has gone and that I now no longer have a wedding reception venue.  Gutted doesn't quite cut it. If the council thing is true, then I do feel bad for some of the employees who were helping us and are now out of a job.
 Share this content via...
