Mrs Fox and her Cub’s

 

They come from out of the scrub,

This Mrs Fox and her three cubs,

Hunger has brought them out tonight,

Got a real good view on this moonlit night,

Mum with her reddish coat and bushy tail,

Looking skinny and somewhat frail,

These cubs, barely a month old,

Scavenging for food on a night so cold,

Toddle up the path in single file,

Go out of view for only a while,

Mums got something wedged between her jaws,

Cubs trying to knock it out with their tiny paws,

It looks like a chicken carcass or something similar,

Cubs are no whining for their dinner,

Into the bushes they disappear again,

Totally unaware been watching them.
