Why's that then?

Because I was seen to within a few hours of ringing 111. Put some cloves on or around the affected area, its known to help ease the pain.

Emergency dentist won't see you unless it is life-threatening ie. bleeding profusely or compromising your breathing. I know as I've been in this position myself!

I'd say being in pain is making you panic, compromising your breathing. - nudge nudge

Usually, by compromised breathing they mean that some part of your airway is starting to swell.

Quality Street toffees will help ease the pain better than oil of clove. Esp if you leave some of the tin foil on. Honest.

Oil of clove will help for sure. Remember Marathon Man? Also, take paracetamol and Ibuprofen together (remember you need food with your Ibuprofen though). And then repeat at four hourly intervals. You might want to stagger the Para. and Ibuprofen. at two-hourly intervals. Check the packet. Good luck.
