rudds1 Â Â 102 #97 Posted February 23, 2016 Are there any scrapyards that will actually GIVE you money for a car instead of charging you to take it away? Â Probley not if they having to collect it as valve of scrap is so low .cant you tow it in to a scrap yard ? Even then don't expect loads for it .have you tried eBay etc you might get a better price
 Share this content via...
Waldo   96 #98 Posted February 23, 2016 Hello.  My car is currently in Killamarsh, it won't drive. What's the best place to sell it for scrap? It will need towing (from Killamarsh).  Also, what's the scrap value? It's a 2005 Peugeot 1007.  Many thanks.
 Share this content via...
geared   317 #99 Posted February 23, 2016 The value is sod all, you'll probably have to pay to get it removed.  Sling it on eBay, you might get 100 quid and have it towed for free.
 Share this content via...

You'll get far more than a scrapyard will pay.  What's up with it anyway
 Share this content via...

How does it work? Start it off at 99p? Cash on collection?  EDIT:  Listing on eBay then! Looks like a £10 insertion fee, and 1% (minimum £25) final valuation fee. Hopefully get £190 plus; is that doable, given it's a non-runner with a dud ECU? Edited February 25, 2016 by Waldo
 Share this content via...
geared   317 #102 Posted February 25, 2016 Yea roughly, although you'll need to make a point it's a non-runner, won't start and will need to be towed.  You just know some total idiot will win it and try to get it started on your driveway before paying you. Just surprised at the eBay fees!
 Share this content via...

Waldo   96 #105 Posted February 25, 2016 Have you tried Gumtree??  Nope. Is it cheaper to list with them? Imagine they're not as popular as eBay though. What do you think?
 Share this content via...

geared   317 #107 Posted February 25, 2016 Yea I think GumTree is free, or you get a couple of free ad's per month?  It's actually pretty popular, got it's own app and everything and there's alot of cars on there - probably because it's free to advertise.
