Tormenting is a good word, the film is either a brilliant insight into some ones battle with dementia 

or just a mish mash of well shot film that fails as a film altogether.

I'll go for the latter.

Is it me ?  I go in my garage create something and I'm proud of my work.

We appear to be in a time when Films are being turned out left right and centre usually well shot and with excellent graphics 

yet somehow the end result is poor to say the least.

Do these so called Directors etc not look at the finished result?

or are they happy with achieving the 'Rotten Tomato' accolade.

 

Well made film great acting but hardly worth watching (IMO) Capone 2020 poor 4+/10

 

For me the best Al Capone film ever has to be the film with the same title 'Capone' (1975) 10/10

 

Rod Steiger wasn't a bad Capone. I remember my old man taking me to see 'Al Capone' at Hillsborough Kinema around 1960.

I agree with the 4/10 and that's with me just watching 20mins of it 2 days ago- I knew it was going to be disastrous.

 

I'm huge crime buff and particularly anything to do with organized crime, so was looking forward to this- big let down IMO.

'Code 8' (Netflix) - 7/10

 

Scifi set in a future where super-powered people are the social underclass that is forced to live in poverty and subjected to bigotry from the normal people. That setting is then bolted on to a fairly standard story about a man, desperate to save his mother from her illness, who falls into the criminal underworld to raise money.

 

Actually quite enjoyable. Decent cast of recognisable C-list actors, the fantastical elements of the story aren't overdone and the special effects used sparsely but are good.

Project Almanac (2015) on Film Four.

 

Absolutely terrible time travel movie, filmed in the "found footage" style.

 

So many plot holes and flaws in it.

30 Days of Night - Dark Days

 

A bit of a modern twist on the vampire horror films. The first is much better IMO, so, 8/10 for the first, 5.5/10 for the second.

Today I enjoyed a good comedy starring Cary Grant - Mr Blandings Builds His Dream House.

The Commune on BBC iPlayer. A Danish drama set in the 70s about a middle aged couple who inherit a large house and invite their friends to come and live with them to help pay the running costs. Everything's fine until he starts an affair with a young female student and decides to move her in. His wife puts on a brave face and pretends she's fine with it,  but eventually her anger and frustration start to leak out then bubble over and she goes a bit bonkers. 7/10.
