Rate The Last Film You've Seen With Marks Out Of Ten - Part Two

The Great Wall. Shockingly awful dialogue, daft plot. Think lord of the rings crossed with the power puff girls. 2/10

That sounds like a winner to me. Might check it out! :hihi:

Ataúd Blanco: El Juego Diabólico (White Coffin) 6/10

I quite enjoyed it. Its very strange, confusing, gory and disturbing in places.

Its also very short (70 mins) and would probably have benefited from being a bit longer.

If you dont take it too seriously (and dont hold the obvious continuity mistakes against it!) Its worth a watch.

The Watcher 7.5/10

I enjoyed this and it creeped me out a bit which not many films do.

I watched couple of dozens of horror movies, but White Coffin really disturbed me and left uncomfortable.

Split - 6/10 - A comeback of sorts for M Night Shyamalan, a man with numerous personalities kidnaps three girls and his different personas come to the fore. Ties in with one of the directors earlier films and signposts a sequel to that film.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert - 9/10 - Never seen the film before but had seen the stage show. Wonderful film, amazing music and truly heart warming. Just an almost perfect example of that easy light genre.

Paddington 2. 7/10. Worth watching and a lot better than lala land.

Finally sat down and made time to watch Beasts of No Nation on Netflix recently (link to Wiki).

Beautifully-filmed, convincing performances by the 2 leads, somewhat predictable but not in a bad way.

Harsh (more than harrowing as such), and aptly conveying how quickly lives can become less than worthless when social cohesion and values are lost.

It is to Black African kids, what City of Gods is to Brazilian kids.

7/10

ET. I liked the bit at the end where the big aliens come to collect the little alien.

I haven't been to the pictures for some time.

Los Parecidos (The Similars) 8/10

Mexican sci-fi/horror film from 2015, set in 1968

During a bizarre storm strange things start happening to people waiting at a remote bus station.

Its creepy, funny, beautifully shot and very Twilight Zone.

I still dont 100% know what was going on but I did really enjoy it.

Case 39 6/10

A decent film. Not a very imaginative storyline (and Renée Zellweger gets on my nerves!) but I still quite enjoyed it.

The Fear of 13 10/10

Its actually a documentary but I thought it deserved a recommendation.

Nicholas Yarris telling the story of his 21 years on death row.

Unbelievable story, and an absolutely captivating performance.

I watched The Force Awakens again as I'm familiarising myself for watching episode VIII on the 14th. I didn't rate the film when I saw it at the cinema (last time I went to the cinema as well, don't like them) but every time I've watched it again it has grown on me. It's up to 7 out of 10.

Safe House - 6/10 - The type of film where you disengage your brain and kick back for a couple of hours of escapism, the type of film you only need to watch once.
