ttparsons   10 #2 Posted February 1, 2014 (edited) The following were mentioned at the recent Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers conference. These are "genuine", but I have not used them. Photoshelter (£18 per month), Getty Images (You've got to be very very good to be accepted), Shutterstock (for cheap images), Alamy. Getty Images' http://www.istockphoto.com has a very thorough guide to taking/submitting stock photos. See http://www.istockphoto.com/help/sell-stock/training-manuals/photography/istocks-standards . Good luck. Edited February 1, 2014 by ttparsons spelling error
 Share this content via...

ttparsons   10 #4 Posted February 4, 2014 A friend of mine uses Alamy and Photographers Direct. Photographers Direct is rather scathing about "microstock" sites such as Shutterstock and iStockPhoto. See http://www.photographersdirect.com/sellers/microstock_sites.asp. Anyone on here able to vouch for any of the sites?
 Share this content via...
Nickscape   10 #5 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) I have quite a lot of images with Alamy with some more recent successes. You really do get out what you put in with stock and it does take time to see any results for me it was almost 2 years before the sales began. Alamy is still very popular but is slowly being replaced by the micro stock market with I-stock seemingly still being the most popular.  You will need to make sure your images are very sharp and defect free, they are very strict with their quality control so you will need to make sure each image you submit is technically perfect.
