Someone’s Knocking at the Door

 

I think it’s time to say enough is enough

People rambling on about religious stuff

Knock on the door, smart man with a brief case

Hello Sir! In your heart do you have a space?

Knowing now is the time to shut the door

A space I reply! Whatever for?

For God he says the man from above.

He will fill your heart with peace and love,

Hold on a minute I had to stop him there,

This god of yours that you want me to share,

Will he stop all the bad things that happen in the world?

Countless prayers that people make are they heard,

Children being murdered, abused and neglected,

Or are these things that gods rejected,

If there was such an almighty heavenly being,

Why throughout the world is there so much suffering,

You can’t tell me that if I welcome this being into my life,

There would be an end to all global strife,

So sorry mate, it’s not that I don’t want to believe,

This wonderful being you’re trying to perceive,

As a non-believer I will take my chance with that,

We are now coming to the end of this religious chat,

Not enough evidence for me, that this god thing is real

Guess I won’t be signing up to your religious deal.
