I have received three PMs regarding my earlier post about Madonna in Mexborough. So for clarity I thought I would put the matter straight.

 

In the early years of her marriage to Guy Ritchie, the bloke who looked after their security came from Mexborough. His wife helped out domestically.

 

The lady became ill, and as a result the couple retired and came back to South Yorkshire. On at least two occasions accompanied by Mr Ritchie, Madonna came to visit, stayed overnight.

 

I realize this does not make her a resident, but their is a house in a street in beautiful downtown Mexborough that once accommodated the greatest female star of the 20th century.
