paulroberts1 10 #25 Posted January 13, 2014 Set up your website using all the information that is available. ... but you may find that what is truly, sheffield-only is not a lot. "Laiking" for example can be found over Cumberland, Westmoreland and North Lancashire. Thanks cgk. I imagine that will probably be the case, so any input is welcomed. The problem I had when looking through sf is that many people assume words that are in common usage are unique to Sheffield (clobber and fettle keep coming up) and I want to avoid them, but I imagine most words will be used elsewhere. Even gennel, nesh and mash which i would consider real Sheffield words are used elsewhere even if they do have slightly different meanings in different places
 Share this content via...

Bart11 0 #27 Posted July 22, 2021 Ey up! I am looking for informants from South Yorkshire (Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham..) and Chesterfield to fill in a survey on social perceptions towards British accents in Sheffield and surrounding areas. It's for my Master's thesis. If you can give me a hand I would really appreciate! This is the link: https://freeonlinesurveys.com/s/fwAtmK47#/0 Thanks in advance!👍
 Share this content via...
