scoobz   10 #1 Posted January 12, 2014 Bamford and Hathersage Circular - Sunday 19th January This walk is a lovely walk, half on the banks of the River Derwent, and half along fields and tracks. Because of it's low-level locality, and with only 240 metres of incline, this is a perfect walk for a winters day. 7 miles altogether, the walk should take no more than 4 hours to complete, and after the walk for anyone who fancies it, we'll be arranging a meal at the Little John pub to celebrate a birthday!  Details:- Meet at Hathersage Swimming Pool Car Park, Oddfellows Road, Hathersage S32 1DU at 10.0 for 10.15 start. As well as the car park there is also on street parking close by.  If you've never walked with the Sheffield Wanderers before why not come along and give us a try? You'll be guaranteed a warm welcome, and you'll enjoy some nice gentle exercise in great countryside whilst making new friends at the same time!  If you need any more information about our group, please e-mail [email protected]
 Share this content via...

scoobz   10 #6 Posted January 16, 2014 Hi I am new to walking this sounds like a nice walk to start off with I am looking to join a walking group Can I try a couple of walks first before I join Can I just turn up or do I need to contact the walk leader  Thanks John W  Hi John  You're right, it is a good walk to start off with - not too strenuous!  You automatically join the group when you come on your first walk. All you have to do is sign a simple form, and pay a one-off charge of £3 and that's it! I'm leading the walk, so I'll pm you with a few more details.  Looking forward to having you along!  Steve
 Share this content via...
