Page Hall Landlords must register for new license

Recommended Posts

having seen into some of these "homes" in eastwood... i dont know how some people can call themself a good landlord.... one house i know of was so bad inside council shut it down , no floor boards , little plaster on the walls , filth all over , but yet the landlord was still asking for £100 per week !

Cant have been Penistine999, he'd have been asking for £200.

There are some right landlords in burngreave/pagehall that still got 50 year old boilers and solve all their problems with a bag of concrete or plywood.

In other news, rents in Page Hall are expected to increase by £725 per annum...

How can you pass the cost on?

You yourself already admit you charge the most that you can already.

If every landlord is hit with a charge , every landlord will increase rents meaning the average rent will increase across the board. Landlords wont just take a hit and absorb it , it will be passed on to tenants .

And you can MAKE EXTRA PROFIT by burgling your own tenants' homes, knowing exactly how insecure you have left them with shoddy repairs.

Not all landlords rent out shoddy property. Yes, you will get a few private rentals in poor condition ,just as you get a few council properties in poor condition.

Of course you squeeze every penny out of your investment , otherwise whats the points of owning them. ?

It cannot be passed on, if they already charge the maximum.

So it's quite a surprise that you're not in favour of speed cameras

Of course it can. Rents rise all the time . This would just simply trigger another rise . When house prices rise ,so do rents . When interest rates rise , so do rents . This would be no different.

When house prices tripled due to liar loans, lax lending, increased credit availablity, why didn't PRS rents triple?

When interest rates rise, house prices fall. So why should rents rise?

Greed, selfishness.

you would think £725 for a year is nothing... i mean how long does it take a landlord to get that back .... one month or two ?

I would rather the council gave landlords the power to kick problem tenants out within 7 days.....

The council doesn't have that power. The council has nothing to do with a private landlord-tenant relationship. The courts rule over that one and the law is dictated by the government.

Why shouldn't the council charge landlords as much as they can

At a guess because landlords will put the rent up that is charged to tenants?
