Democracy in action in Lebanon.

A huge explosion in central Beirut has killed former Lebanese Finance Minister Mohamad Chatah and four others.

He was an adviser to the former Prime Minister Saad Hariri, a Sunni Muslim. A car was seen in flames near government offices and the parliament.

Beirut was once on a par with Monte Carlo as a haven for the rich & famous. Now it is just another cesspit of the Arab world.

Oh dear. We know why Beirut has gone down the pan. Why has Paris turned into a crap hole?

The centre of Paris is still quite nice. But some of the housing estates on the outskirts are hell on earth.

It is sad that a once beautiful city has become such a disaster zone. Now when folk want to describe a bomb damaged city they say it is "Like Beirut".
