The judge said his lower court was not qualified to deal with the case, Abulkhair explained.  Badawi's wife, Ensaf Haidar, told online news website Sabq.org that "the new judge... demanded the death penalty" for her husband.  Is it great that countries like Saudi have entered the 17th century and anyone questioning the Islamic doctrine could face a death sentence. SevenRivers   10 #6 Posted December 26, 2013 (edited) Saudi in 2012 requested the extradition a journalist from Malaysia for insulting the Prophet Muhammed on Twitter.  What's worrying is Interpol were possibly implicated in this instance in trying to enforce Sharia Law (Interpol deny any involvement).  http://www.theguardian.com/world/2012/feb/10/interpol-journalist-arrested-muhammad-tweet Edited December 26, 2013 by SevenRivers
 Share this content via...

Mr Clowning   10 #10 Posted December 26, 2013 Saudi in 2012 requested the extradition a journalist from Malaysia for insulting the Prophet Muhammed on Twitter. What's worrying is Interpol were possibly implicated in this instance in trying to enforce Sharia Law (Interpol deny any involvement).  http://www.theguardian.com/world/2012/feb/10/interpol-journalist-arrested-muhammad-tweet  Interpol deny any involvement, so if someone used their system via a hack of some kind or if someone pretended to be from Interpol and were not in order to get this arrest then wouldn't that make the arrest unlawful ?  If this is the case then someone should be seeking to have this man released.
