neeeeeeeeeek   10 #2 Posted December 25, 2013 keep pressing f8 on startup, see if it boots in safemode or last known good config.  If not, and you have nothing new on it, you can restore it back to its factory settings. This will erase all the data you have put on it, so if you have anything that you don't want to loose, then don't do it. As it's new this sounds unlikely.  Recovering From the Hard Drive During Startup  To reinstall Windows 7 and all pre-installed software and drivers:  1. Turn on your computer, then press Alt + F10 during startup. Packard Bell Recovery Management opens. 2. Click Completely Restore system to Factory Defaults. 3. You will then see the Recovery Notice. This warns you that * This action will erase all exsisting data on C: * This option will return your comptuer to factory settings. All files, settings, updates and software installed since the comptuer was first used will be deleted. * we recommend this recovery is your computer is infected by a persistent virus or malware, or if other recovery options fail. * Recovery will require plenty of power. Please plug in your AC cord. * Please detach all external storage device attached to the system. e.g. USB Hard Disk, Flash Disk. Click Next to continue. 4. You will then get a Restore Destination summary screen. This displays the main hard drive in your computer. Click Next to continue. 5. You will be notifed that: This action will erase all exsisting data on Partition label : OS. Press "OK" to continue, or press 'cancel' to abort. Click OK to continue. 6. Your hard drive's original, factory-loaded contents are recovered. This process will take several minutes. During this time the screen may flash up several messages whilst it automatically configures your computer. Once this has finished press OK to restart your computer. 7. After your computer restarts, Windows will setup your comptuer and configure it for first use.
