Grenoside Post Office Armed Robbery

Grenoside Post Office - armed robbery there just after 5pm today.

No further details at mo but gun and slegehammer involved as weapons.

That's two post offices done in the space of a week 'close' to each other. Oughtibridge PO was done last week around the same time.

Oh god how awful!! As alisonmanic has said that's two so close together in a short time. I feel desperately sorry for anybody who this happens to....the effects of something like this have got to be so much worse and longlasting than purely financial.

I went to draw out money from PO minutes after robbery. :-(

 

Post mistress unharmed but exceedingly distressed by experience of having a gun held to her head!

 

If anyone knows who these robbers might be, please contact police straight away!

Exactly what time was this and what did you see if it had just happened?

I went to PO at 17:15, arriving just after robber(s) left and before police arrived. Saw distraught postmistress but not robbery itself.

Does anybody know which member of staff it was that this happened to? We know Donna from going in there a lot and she's a really nice person and fantastic at her job - I really hope every one is ok!!!
