"In Bangui, our staff are reporting continued shooting and a mood of widespread fear," a UNHCR spokesman said on Tuesday.

"We continue to hear of attacks against Christians by former Seleka [mostly Muslim disbanded militias] with looting, killing and houses being set on fire."

The agency also said that hundreds have risked their lives by fleeing the country by boat across a branch of the Congo River.

The UN World Food Program said on Tuesday that it was resuming food delivery to about 40,000 people near the Bangui airport after the security situation forced the work to stop over the weekend.

The agency also warned that up to a quarter of the mineral-rich nation's 5.2 million population risks going hungry.

Christians are being attacked by Muslims throughout the Muslim world without much interest by anyone.

Perhaps we should mention these things more often.

Muslims are being persecuted in Myanmar but really in Iraq and Syria and really everywhere in the Middle East and where the most ancient of all the world's Christian populations are, they have been eating a ****e sandwich for quite some considerable time. Not that this is anything particularly new, however it has intensfied since the so called Arab Spring kicked off.

Abuses of human rights in CAR are extensively covered on the Amnesty International website

I'd happily consider asylum claims for these Christians, would you?

Maybe it's because whoever was responsible in NI are not trying to take over the world? Although I do understand the battle between Irish/British, Catholic/Protestant and whist these issues have seen British targets attacked over the world, it's hardly in the same league as the non-muslim/muslim issue for most of the global population.

So why are you so keen to defend muslims at every opportunity then?

its not about defending Muslims its about countering this general islamophobia from certain sections, and Mr vinyl seems particularly obsessive on the subject, specifically terrorist actions, which thinking logically he'd especially be interested in a real bomb going off on UK soil, but he's not, as Muslims aren't involved .roll:
