R.I.P Ronnie Biggs

Recommended Posts

Ronnie Biggs the original health tourist. He only came back because his health was failing him and he wanted free healthcare.

Wex beat me to it :)

A violent criminal who only came back to the UK after he had spent his stolen money so he could obtain free health care.

Yep, I.M.O. they should have just refused him entry into the UK, he should have been left to rot in whatever hole he had been hiding in.

read up on it, he had nothing to do with the coshing and indeed was the last to be recruited, he was a bit part player, he only became a folk hero because he escaped from jail and stuck two fingers up to the system

He was part of the team that used violence to steal, scum.

Typical 'hard man'.

Rather than face the consequences for his actions, ie, the law, he flits the country to live the life of Riley in Rio De Janeiro. (My father met him; Mr Biggs seemed to like the idea of being some kind of celebrity.)

Then when he requires free health care, why, he returns to Blighty.

The death of anyone is rarely a time to gloat, but this comes mighty close.

Exactly, if you are part of a gang that beats someone to near death, you are equally guilty no matter how long it has been since you joined the gang. This excuse is no defence in a UK court.

I hope we don't have a state funeral for him. I hope he does rest in peace though - in the nearest sewer.

No chance of that, state funerals are reserved for sovereigns and heads of state normally.
