angos   10 #73 Posted December 12, 2013 Thought you'd lack the spine to address that question. Quelle surprise!  Better luck next time, keep fishing and someone might bite.
 Share this content via...
RootsBooster   24 #74 Posted December 12, 2013 So to summarise, you've spent several pages arguing fruitlessly that homophobia isn't a learned behaviour, call anyone who doesn't accept homophobia 'bigoted' and refuse to comment on whether you think it's a bad thing that should be challenged. Deliberately misunderstanding and trying to re-interpret a definition isn't exactly an argument
 Share this content via...
Cyclone   10 #75 Posted December 12, 2013 I've looked back angus, and the only point I can see you actually make is that you don't believe homophobia to be bigotry (despite the definition fitting perfectly). If that's the case we might as well tell you that Santa doesn't exist, if you continue to insist that he does (or that homophobia isn't bigotry) then no amount of logic, reason or being correct will convince you as you have no interest in actually challenging your own position. angos   10 #76 Posted December 12, 2013 homophobia to be bigotry (despite the definition fitting perfectly). I  No it really doesn't.  Bigotry is intolerance towards those who hold different opinions from oneself, and this description fits you perfectly. dosxuk   10 #77 Posted December 12, 2013 No it really doesn't.  Until you're willing to explain why, I'm afraid we shall just assume you to be wrong.
 Share this content via...
Cyclone   10 #78 Posted December 12, 2013 No it really doesn't. Bigotry is intolerance towards those who hold different opinions from oneself, and this description fits you perfectly.  Shall I show you again?  Bigoted: having or revealing an obstinate belief in the superiority of one's own opinions and a prejudiced intolerance of the opinions of others.  Prejudiced: preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience.  Intolerance of homophobia is based on reason, thus not bigotry. Intolerance of homosexuality is irrational (as defined by phobia) and thus is bigotry.  Simples.
 Share this content via...

Halibut   12 #80 Posted December 12, 2013 Homosexuality isn't an opinion, therefor intolerance of homosexuality isn't bigoted.  How would you describe a person who is vocally anti gay and says defamatory and derogatory thing about homomsexuals?
