geared   306 #39 Posted August 7, 2014 I assume that any ECU modification is an insurance reportable modification and to not do so would mean you are driving with invalid insurance?  Yes of course, even the remapping services will tell you to.  At Superchips we tell everyone who is interested in an ECU Remap that they must inform their car insurance company. This is because ECU remapping affects your car’s performance. Which is why you buy one, of course!  You should inform your insurer of modifications to your car’s performance. Xt500   10 #42 Posted September 23, 2014 Its a 2002 just want a bit more bhp and mpg  you dont go for a remap to get an increase in MPG that rarely happens despite all the claims. More bhp is always usefull though, less effort to drive, less gear changes and as a consequence CAN lead to slightly more mpg.  I very much doubt an extra 30bhp will be pulled from a 110 bhp motor but what ever it is,you will enjoy.
