iPad 3 isn't available any more (from Apple), think you can get iPad 2, iPad 4, or iPad air...

I'd personally go for an iPad mini with Retina display.

Ah, perhaps you can't buy iPad 4 now, it, along with iPad 3, is now obsolete (while iPad 2 is still on sale, go figure).

Compared to the iPad 2 its smaller, lighter, much better screen (4x more pixels) and a much faster processor.

As Waldo says the iPad 3 is no longer available - it was quickly replaced by the iPad 4 - which has now been replaced by the iPad Air.

The iPad 2 is still available, but its really not worth the small saving against the much more powerful Air, or the new Mini - just make sure you get a 2013 Mini with Retina display, not the old model.

Or buy yourself an Android tablet, something along the lines of a Nexus 10 and save yourself £200 and be able to do more with it.

The only reason I got an iPad was the app I wanted, weren't available on Android, then when it was released on android... it wasn't to the same version/capability...

Nexus 10 is from £339.

iPad air is from £399.

iPad mini with retina is from £319!

Not sure how you arrive at 'save yourself £200'...

What Waldo says. Nexus 10 is due for an upgrade though. I think the Nexus 7 mk2 is very good value for money.

iPad 3 was the first iPad to get a retina display. I'm currently on iPad 3 too.

The mini isn't 10". The OP mentioned 10" tablets.

Of which, these are the prices I got from google, which I based my post on:

Ok, so I round up to 200 from nearly 200. ;)
