Obviously, however I was led to believe that a significant amount of the muslim population were well educated with many professionals amongst them ( ie, doctors, solicitors, etc ). When I was at university (early eighties) in Leicester there were many muslims who did very well on my course (mathematics degree) and a few of them are still good friends. The 15% is the percentage of all muslims the working class percentage may be higher.

Did they or their children become offenders who were imprisoned?

Yes but I doubt very much whether Ghandi had any say in the decision to execute the men who murdered him....
