Is BRIT an offensive word?

Recommended Posts

It's offensive to many people, as it's often used as a term of abuse. I don't like it myself, because I don't think of myself as a 'Brit', especially when the person using it is making some generalised point about the UK.

But I think most people actually have never realised that they're being abused so they're quite happy with it.

I think you're being overly sensitive, but I'm always open to being educated. So in what circumstances and by whom is it used as a term of abuse?
