This year's Big Issue Knitathon on this saturday

Recommended Posts

This years Big Issue knitathon will be held on

Saturday 16th November at the Methodist Church The Beacon at Broomhill, from 1.30 -3.00pm

The aim is to knit 6 inch squares which will be sent to the Big Issue

Foundation where they will be sewn together to make blankets. (although there is a request this year that we sew squares together in rows of 12, so sewers are as important as knitters !!)

For more information see www.bigissue.org.uk/BigKnitathon The

website also gives patterns for textured squares but garter or

stocking stitch is fine. It's an ideal way of using up part balls of yarn. If you don't have any spare yarn there will be materials provided on the day

There will also be coffee, tea , biscuits and hopefully buns for sale and all proceeds will go to the Big Issue Foundation.

Last year's event was very successful and it would be great to meet up

again this year. If anyone needs further information please reply or email

ginger gill@talktalk.net.

Thanks
