Rotherham bus partnership consultation

Recommended Posts

Following the formation of the Sheffield bus partnership and the network and ticketing changes implemented last October, it is now Rotherham's turn. The consultation website is now live and it should be noted some services around the Sheffield/Rotherham border are affected.

The changes to the bus network will take place in April 2014.

I would urge anyone that uses buses in or near Rotherham to take a look at the consultation website and fill in the survey and make your views known.

Personally I'm not happy because I travel to Harthill on a weekly basis and the only buses they propose running to Harthill is from Rothertham via Treeton - no X14 to Sheffield outside peak hours and no 29A to Halfway tram terminus!

In your case den37, between Crystal Peaks and Killamarsh there will still be the Supertramlink3 bus as a frequent alternative to the 27, my suggestion to the proposals would be to ditch the 271 altogether and extend the SL3 beyond Killamarsh and do a one way loop around Norwood, Kiveton, Harthill and Woodall.

I get the impression a lot of people aren't happy with the proposed bus changes. The first consultation event held at Harthill Village Hall last week was apparently very well attended and the PTE rep didn't have enough survey forms for everyone!

Locals unhappy at losses of direct links to Crystal Peaks, Sheffield, Worksop and Rotherham Hospital plus complete withdrawal of buses from Thorpe Salvin and Woodall.

I particularly love how the webiste gives next to no real information and is full of * & **'s of which a key to what these mean hasn't been published on the pages that these appear.

It's like they're trying to hide something . . . . .

Could do with a bus from Wath to Sheffield centre.

Looks like I will be able to get the 22 Wath to Meadowhall, which means I could change bus at Meadowhall Interchange instead of Rotherham Interchange.
