Blue Day   10 #25 Posted October 30, 2013 Headline news on radio 2. Truely shocking crime.
 Share this content via...
frank ryan   10 #26 Posted October 30, 2013 there's a rise in pizza robbing - fake call and they wait to rob the delivery guy - usually nets a pizza or 2 and a few quid - kids think it's a joke but it's robbery -has a max sentence of life imprisonment, often leads to violence as the kids are stoned or drunk & the delivery person terrified. quite possibly this man's life ended cos of a similar offence.  what an awful, pointless crappy way for someone to die, for a pizza. SevenRivers   10 #27 Posted October 30, 2013 Utterly disturbing and shocking. Why would anybody want to randomly kill a pizza delivery guy.
 Share this content via...
Blue Day   10 #28 Posted October 30, 2013 Utterly disturbing and shocking. Why would anybody want to randomly kill a pizza delivery guy.  My guess is there was a motive. Robbery probably although what you think you're gonna get from a delivery man? A few quid?
 Share this content via...
Ousetunes   10 #29 Posted October 30, 2013 (edited) It's made it onto Radio 2 news.  It makes me feel ashamed that it's happened in my home town but then I am reminded that it isn't me who is letting these crimes go almost unpunished by way of suspended sentences, being let out on bail, sent to open prisons to serve half of a pathetically lenient sentence, sending a letter of apology to victim, a rap on the knuckles etc.  I am so sorry for the relatives of the deceased and I am sorry on behalf of the vast majority of the decent citizens of this city. frank ryan   10 #30 Posted October 30, 2013 Utterly disturbing and shocking. Why would anybody want to randomly kill a pizza delivery guy.  guessing they didn't - more likely they had some half assed plan to rob him but he struggled and was stabbed. In Uppers   10 #31 Posted October 30, 2013 But they didn't steal anything so how can the motive have been robbery?  The delivery was not a set up, he was reported as a no show to the shop who then went looking for him.  Why try to rob the guy when the delivery had not even been made, therefore no money for the said delivery and were these people just randomly hanging around & thought - OO look a delivery driver, lets stab him!!  I really think more info on motive etc is required.  RIP Mr Pizza Delivery guy & condolences to your family
 Share this content via...

*_ash_* Â Â 88 #33 Posted October 30, 2013 I'm a regular customer of theirs and the city branch (in fact I ordered last night but didn't know about this). Always very friendly drivers, which I always comment on online. Much better than I was when I delivered for them for Al, Anil and Sarah years ago when the first one opened on Ecclesall Rd. Â What a shocking crime. I hope this person/people are found very quickly and brought to justice. People come to Sheffield to study and work because it's a good and safe city with a good worldwide reputation, which it is most of the time. Â Shocking for his parents, his friends, and I feel for his colleagues who it says found him, that must have been awful for them
 Share this content via...
Solitaire   10 #34 Posted October 30, 2013 Truly shocking.  God bless and may you rest in eternal peace.  To those that did this, justice will prevail!  C xxx
 Share this content via...
Blue Day   10 #35 Posted October 30, 2013 As an aside......  Would it be an idea - is it possible - for the Forum to open some kind of online book of condolence? Somewhere people of Sheffield could register their disgust at the crime and show this mans family that we're as shocked and angry as they no doubt are?  Maybe such a book or thread could then be printed and handed to his family at a later date.  Just a thought
 Share this content via...
puddinburner   10 #36 Posted October 30, 2013 Doesn't seem that long ago since the other delivery lad got shot nr the five arches? maybe unconnected but not a million miles away? Postmen refusing to deliver to that end block of flats a while back too? Hmmmm? Look deeper blues! Someone knows something they must do.
