alchresearch   214 #3 Posted October 16, 2013 +1 to that ^^^^^^^^^^^^  A 1996 Peugeot 306 is a good place to start. Although you can get them upto 2000 without the HDI engine, but they tend to have Lucas pumps.  Sadly their rarity has ramped up prices. And road tax is quite high, £120 for six months IIRC. Trubster   10 #4 Posted October 16, 2013 I was looking for a Vauxhall Astra 1.9 TDi, cheap parts and sort of reliable  I was told "As long as it is not a TDCi" it SHOULD be ok
 Share this content via...
alchresearch   214 #5 Posted October 16, 2013 Yep, the "C" in TDCi stands for Common Rail, which isn't suitable.
 Share this content via...
Shogun   10 #6 Posted October 16, 2013 I use the bio fuel from there never had a problem.I use it in my old Transit and my shogun, but not in my bipper van,it seems the older diesel engines run fine on it,what I tend to do is have a few weeks where I use diesel and a few weeks where I use the bio fuel.if you take it in cans it is a £1ltr for of road.what I do is every now and then put a few quid in the tank so you get a receipt just incase the vosa stop you.its better and safer than using red diesel. mg16 Â Â 10 #8 Posted October 16, 2013 I used it in my 99 Passat tdi non pd without any problems. other than the odd chipshop style odour at times worked great. this was a few years since from a place off newhall road. maybe they have resolved that by now.
