Did Graves Park again his morning - really great atmosphere - complete with a goat escaping in the rare breeds centre and completing a rather quick and short run before it was captured and returned home. Some great people around and really good weather for it today

 

Did the goat manage to get an official finishing time? :-)

 

I did Castle again this week; fairly slow time, but great for a bit of hill training...

Did the usual Parkrun at Clifton again and managed 2nd place in 20:10 Hoping to stay around this time consistanly this year

Did hear a rumour that the submerged far side pathways are going to used instead of the lakes for the next Tri race to save disturbing the Ducks and Geese

Massive turnout again on a sharp January day, any guesses how many we'll get in the summer.

Wow. Massive turn out at Graves too. Was there any problem with congestion at the start?

 

I'm predicting March for 1000+ Sheffield park runners.

No real problems at all - just a little more cosy at the start but it all thins out very quickly. Really enjoy Graves - lovely atmosphere and great friendly people

Graves - 8 off our record attendance. The start was 2 minutes late due to the timekeeper not being able to find space in the car park. The numbers aren't a problem but it's follow the leader along the Pondside 'white' path just after the pinch point.

Its our 1st Birthday run at hillsborough parkrun this Saturday. People are bringing cake and we're running the course in the opposite direction. All welcome.

Sheffield Star - But the survey also found 11.05 per cent of people in Sheffield did take part in moderate exercise – more than the national average and second only to Leeds out of the nine most populated cities in the country.

 

parkrun take a bow. I'm not sure when the survey was done but parkruns recent increases must be partly responsible. Graves- Hills & Highland Cows

39 - Concord

150 - Graves

169 - Hillsborough

32 - Castle

507 - Hallam

 

Total 897

 

I went to Barnsley for their 3 lapper. We ran in icy conditions that would have caused Hallam to be called off. Our form runner was 40 seconds quicker than her Graves pb and the considered opinion is that Graves is the toughest in South Yorkshire.
