cuttsie   1,090 #74 Posted September 23, 2013 Oooooo, you can't have a pop at the House of Saud. They do own a significant portion of this fair isle you know! They own half of Bramall Lane football ground I think its the John Street side.
 Share this content via...
Norseman   10 #75 Posted September 24, 2013 The sentence she received wasn't because she was raped, it was for violating Saudi Arabia's rigid Islamic laws requiring segregation of the sexes. It was proven that she was in a car with a man who was not her relative. The men also went to prison.  So did the men also get 200 lashes as well? as there is one rule for men and an entirely different one for women in Saudi, whilst the rulers allow women to have an education their rights well they don't have any whatsoever.  A person I used to work with got a job in Saudi last year and HAD to marry his girlfriend so she could live with him over there!!  ---------- Post added 24-09-2013 at 21:00 ----------  They own half of Bramall Lane football ground I think its the John Street side.  Well maybe they should start investing in the club then because like Wednesday in the league above they're floundering near the bottom, lets not kid ourselves both Sheffield teams are rubbish now! vinyl   10 #78 Posted December 27, 2013 Good PR exercise ?.What they say and what they do may be a different kettle of fish, the problem is no one(women) will have the guts to speak out from the inside to make this a reality  Some do. This is what happens.  http://www.aljazeera.com/news/middleeast/2013/12/saudi-activist-sentenced-lashes-jail-20131215173542394182.html   A Saudi judge has sentenced a political activist to 300 lashes and four years in prison for calling for a constitutional monarchy in Saudi Arabia, his rights group said.  Omar al-Saeed is the fourth member of the Saudi Civil and Political Rights Association (ACPRA) to be jailed this year after the group issued statements attacking the ruling family over its human rights record and calling for democracy.  Saeed did not have legal representation at the secret hearing when he was sentenced on Sunday, ACPRA said in a statement on its website.  "It's just another troubling instance of Saudi authorities' absolute refusal to countenance any activism or criticism of Saudi policies or human rights abuses," said Adam Coogle, Middle East researcher at Human Rights Watch. johncocker   10 #79 Posted December 27, 2013 Thanks for pointing that out. Good news though isn't it?  who are you trying to kid ,like you'd care about what happens too saudi women:suspect:pull the other one troll  who do you think would respond to a telephone call from a woman. The police would seek permission from the male guardian to attend the address. Where do you go from there? women are regularly arrested for driving a motor vehicle( although this is not against any law) They are taken to the police station to await collection by their male guardian, who is required to explain what she was doing out without an escort and how she was allowed to drive.  2/the constitution of saudi arabaia is the Quran, Article 1 of The Basic Law of Saudi Arabaia tells us "God's Book and the Sunnah of His Prophet" are the country's constitution and Sharia Law is the law of Allah, which is eternally binding on Muslims, said to be for mankind's benefit is unreformable, And the following of any religion other than Islam forbidden. Muslims have a book which they consider to be the perfect and immutable word of god. This book contains instructions on when it is permissible to beat you wife (amongst other things):  I've seen your posts about how we live in a misogynistic rape culture in Britain, but you praise the likes of Saudi Arabia for paying lip service to domestic violence. its not hard to see where you're coming from
 Share this content via...

Is this the start of your "I NEED TO GET ANOTHER THREAD SHUT DOWN INITIATIVE?"  As pathetic and cheap insults go this is in the bargain basement...anything to say about the subject of the thread perchance?  Wow this thread is going really well. caparo   10 #82 Posted December 27, 2013 (edited) Isn't it good to see that religious freedom in Saudi has led to such diversity. So much so that any foreign national who takes Saudi nationality is required to convert to Islam. Hindu workers from India who live there are forbidden to worship in the country.
