andyofborg   11 #3 Posted August 26, 2013 like it! remember last year when the nearly everything in the star seemed to have appeared on here first!  that's hardly surprising really, posting something on here appears instantly whereas the star is printed once a day
 Share this content via...
Gleadly   11 #4 Posted August 26, 2013 Jeffery Street.  I'm sure it will be in the Star if it's anything serious.  If not then nothing to concern us about.  More important that we report possible crimes BEFORE they happen, rather than after the police arrive. S8Sammy   10 #5 Posted August 26, 2013 well said, G. Members of the Gleadless Valley Community Group forum on facebook often reports suspicious activity so residents can be on the alert - though doubtless another poster on here would term them nosey neighbours! Gleadly   11 #6 Posted August 26, 2013 There are always 2 sides to every story.  Keeping an eye on what's happening is all part of Neighbourhood Watch.  Reporting police activities, other than to the police, could be classified as being a nosey parker.  At what stage one becomes the other may be a difficult question to answer. Bethsmummy   10 #10 Posted August 26, 2013 Can you imagine if the Star reported everytime the police attended an incident??  Breaking news  4 police officers attended a house on Gleedless Rd yesterday when Mr & Mrs Montague had an argument over who won at the dominoes they were playing. Mrs Montague allegedly threw a domino at Mr Montagues head to which her husband retaliated with bashing his fists on the table.  An eyewitness- Mrs Partridge- who lives next door said "I've never heard shouting like it. It used to be such a quiet neighbourhood & then something like this happens"  Initial police reports suggest Mrs Montague was omitting quite a strong odour of Sherry. No arrests were made however a weapon was confiscated. Police confirmed the double spot domino was removed from the property in order to prevent any further disturbances. woodmally   10 #12 Posted August 26, 2013 Police in attendance at a house on Gleadless Rd, Heeley, just up from Jeffrey Street. Several squad cars and a van. Another event we doubtless won't read about in The Star!  You might never get to know. Someone on here once posted about the police cordoning off a house next to them. They were subsequently silenced and we heard nothing since.
 Share this content via...
