How much do you spend on your weekly shop?

Recommended Posts

Trying to work out a budget for me and my other half and just wondered how much everyone usually spends on average on their food shopping.

£45 for a family of 3. We plan meals, waste nothing and only ever buy what we need.

Trick is to not have any shop loyalty to a particular supermarket. It may take longer but different shops can differ wildly on prices, I am now using Aldi for certain basics, Farmfood for other bits and Tesco for a few of their own items.

Same for us. It's very rare indeed that we waste things.

Shopping for me and her indoors for a week - £120 minimum.

It's a bit subjective the question, as we all have differing tastes in food.

Some shop at Aldi/Lidl some shop at Tesco/Asda, that will make a difference as well.

Angel.

That would depend on whether food shopping included restaurants. If I eat out a lot it cuts back on how much I have to spend in supermarkets.

Our big shop usually sits around the £135 mark but we might tot up another £60 throughout the week, there are five of us in the house.

It is if he picks you up at your front door, buys you a steak and a Pinot and drops you off afterwards.

It sounds more like you run a soup kitchen.

£110-£120 per week family of 4. That's including shampoos & toothpaste & washing powder too. We can sometimes stretch it out & make it last 8 or 9 days though. We'll eat out a couple of times aswell.
