Office Christmas Parties - Wheres good to go?

I have been given the task of organising the office Christmas party this year.

 

There is 12 of us and we usually go to the Hilton or Royal Vic for a mid day christmas dinner and disco joint with other offices (mainly HSBC or some big company who basically fill the other 200 spaces)

 

This year I am wanting to give some different options to the team...

 

Can anyone suggest somewhere with good food, good price and includes some kind of entertainment.

Grosvenor Casino Queens Rd, Friday and Saturday nights have entertainment. Packages from £15-39.

You could could try the Leopold hotel in Leopold Square. I had a function there earlier this year and the food and venue were great. Or you could try the Mercure hotel in St Paul's, but they do tend to be a bit pricey.

Be really different. Yorkshire Wildlife Park! If you can suss a minibus it's totally unique and their party facilities are great.

We've had our xmas do at Magna a couple of times. Not cheap (about £45 i think) but food was gorgeous, silver service. They had a great band and bumper cars there too! Not everyones cuppa but we really enjoyed it both times. We're going to ponds forge this year for a masquerade ball - eek!

We are going to the New York stadium in Rotherham for a 3 course meal and unlimited drinks. It costs £50 but the meal on its own is £30.

They usually have an event at Ponds Forge with some kind of theme. I've never been myself, but have heard good things.

How about Gentings casino? Dinner in the restaurant upstairs followed by the casino and cocktails. The food was nice when l went for a Christmas party last year - no dancing, though if that's what you like.

Previous years have been at Holiday Inn, Q Casino (think that's what it's called?) and St Pauls Hotel. I'd avoid St Pauls as the food wasn't that great, but it did have a lively atmosphere and dancing.

Also had a Christmas party at Ponds Forge - again, the food wasn't great.

The Millenium Gallery also has public function nights. We always had our christmas do there for last 3 years its really nice.

The Burton Restaurant, burton street Foundation in Hillsborough is great - had 2 really good works nights out there. Good ambience, lovely food, disco and cosy bar, friendly professional staff. Cost about £25 a head. You might feel a bit lost in there with just 12 of you though.
