It will not ever compare to Oz (US cable show from about 2000) which spawned many other shows featuring it's actors on Law & Order SVU, Cold Case etc.

Totally agree, very moving supernatural series.

 

Oz is well worth a watch, but prepare to be shocked, in many ways. Very brutal and gritty.
