OopNorth   10 #1 Posted August 6, 2013 Hi all, Am looking for someone to do vintage hair and makeup for myself (bride) and two bridesmaids in Sheffield in April next year. Can anyone recommend anyone?  I'm thinking 1940s/1950s style, so I'd prefer someone that specialises in vintage styles as it's quite hard to get right. And someone that will come to the house too.  Has anyone used Tallulah's Vintage Salon? She looks great from the website...  Thanks! HarthillLass   10 #4 Posted August 7, 2013 Nicola Gregory at Uber in Dinnington is doing mine - she ran through several options and it only cost me £15 for 1.5hr trial. I told her it was a vintage style and showed her the dress and she came up with the hair styles to match. Fantastic!
 Share this content via...
OopNorth   10 #5 Posted August 7, 2013 I've taken a look at Jenn Edwards, and to do myself and two bridesmaids for hair and makeup and a trial is nearly £500!
 Share this content via...

OopNorth   10 #7 Posted August 7, 2013 Thanks sophiec1979, still can't believe the prices though. Think I'm going to have to learn to do it myself, can't justify spending £400 plus on this.
 Share this content via...
lilypiglet   10 #8 Posted August 7, 2013 Have you tried Bang Bang Vintage? Sheffield based retro clothing/merchandise and hair and beauty. The owner is Loulou Glover. They are both on Facebook if you have access to it.
 Share this content via...

Fantastic!  I go to a different hair & beauty salon in Dinnington but have only had my hair done there. There are various hardressers there but Jake and Liam do fabulous hairstyles, especiall up-dos. Take them some photos and see if they can do what you want. I'm not sure what styles you are looking for with 40s and 50s but its worth giving them a call. Salon is called Just Hair & Beauty. I think they are on Facebook but they have a website anyway.
 Share this content via...
claiireee   10 #10 Posted August 7, 2013 I'm using Mirror Mirror Bridal who are very reasonable, I think. They're based in Chesterfield but will travel. I'm having myself and bridesmaid (hair and make up, both with trials), hair for three you younger bridesmaids and a blow dry for my Mum and Grandma. That has come to £365. I think they start at around £25 for up dos.
 Share this content via...
