About time we do something to fix the internet so governments can't meddle & snoop with it. Plans are in the works... The time has past to think political objections make much difference, they certainly don't in (even) more repressive countries than here, we need a technical solution & I'm going to start work on one. What are they going to do when we've got virtually unbreakable end to end encryption?

 

Let them do it this time, it's just a technical challenge so we can stop state censorship & snooping altogether.

Boys being boys they will now access porn through proxies and the deep web. You might not know how to access these, but I absolutely guarantee you that your kids do.

 

There, where all the child porn now lives, they will encounter stuff that is truly nasty and damaging and untracable.

What is so hard about clicking on "Tools" - "Internet Options - "Content" then using the slider / specific content blocks?

 

Surely the FIRST step should have been working with experts - all of whom would have told him it's unworkable.

 

I wonder what they will class as "porn". Back to 1920 levels I guess.

 

It takes me nearly 10 seconds to update a bookmark when they block a file sharing site I use.

 

How many kids will ask their parents to remove the filter!! No they will just learn to use the deep web which is untraceable and then no one can find what they are up to. If you are dumb enough to hand over technology to a child that you yourself don't understand, you're not up to the job.

 

This government truly is stupid with no clue how the internet works.

It's not just about porn .. it's about programs etc... If you do a normal google on bittorent it will say error you cant be on this site, bla bla... dont use google! LOL .... You can still get anything you want for free! don't USE Google to find it for you!!!!!

bear in mind that the government could gain FULL access to all traffic that leaves your private network ie non 'internet', could delay and decrypt (given enough will) all data traversing the uk.

Yes that's what I say... lol think this.... In my house a run my own server .... its not James bond .... look at the mess with the missing airplane... Not as smart as we thought! do you stop it?.... I'm gonna assume your more drunk than I,

what you wrote wasn't a reason why it couldn't be done.

all internet traffic abides by rules much like the postal system. as such the traffic can be manipulated, inspected and restricted much like the postal system.

If you want to circumvent the rules and protocols you cant work on/in the system, If you want to circumvent the inspection you must use encryption, encrypted info could be quite easily delayed (indefinitely) until the information is decrypted.

when that is done you can decide if your going to let the info continue.

This is not beyond the realm of possibility, proxy bay doesn't prove anything except lack of intent.
