Diesel specialists in sheffield

Evening all. I've got a bit of an issue with my 57 plate vauxhall vectra I had green flag round today and I'm told its fuel injection system problem witch needs to be taken to a diesel specialist,a quick google search brings 4 0r 5 up in sheffield but as I'm not familiar with any of them I thought I'd ask the opinion of you fine people first. Has any one had problems with diesel injectors before? And if so can you recommend somewhere trustworthy I can take that's not going to fleece me! I'm aware that this can sometimes be a expensive fix but I'm also aware it can sometimes be a £10 sensor that's the problem any help would be appreciate.many thanks

We had a diesel injection system issue and John Hogg were recommended to us- in aftercliffe I believe they were, but prepare yourself for the £££!

Oh oh I don't like the sound of that ££££!but thanks for the tip John hogg was one of the first that came up though google was hoping to see some change from £500-£700 is this wishful thinking?

Try Tune It, AJ Services, on Callywhite Lane, Dronfield. They are pretty good, looking at my Focus tcdi and my 1966 Landie.

don't bother with them there expensive try sheaf diesel services or firth diesel services in Rotherham

try MB services Upwell strret 01142432469 , ask for Rikki worked on my diesel for last few years .even some of the vauxhall dealers take problems to him

The funny thing Hoggs refused to look at my car. So I took it to MB Services to sort it. Clearly my money was good enough for them but not good enough for Hoggs

If it were me I'd go onto a Vauxhall forum and post up your question and see if others have had the same problem, and at least get a second unbiased opinion from someone who doesn't have a vested interest in the contents of your wallet.

 

I don't want to criticise Green Flag but the last time a breakdown company diagnosed a diesel fuel system fault for someone I knew, it turned out to be a blocked tank filter that took half an hour to clean, but they were saying it was the high pressure pump that had failed and would cost upwards of £300 to fix. So just be wary of "fix all" services, speak to the real experts - the long term test drivers, or owners as they're commonly known!

Why did they refuse to look at it?

 

When I phoned to explained it had a problem my the injector seals. He seems not very interested about it. I did persaude him to have a look but he phoned a couple of hours later to say to take the car away. At the end someone off here recommended MB services so they sorted it. However a couple of months later the head gasket failed. By which time I decided I had enough and decided get rid of the car. This happened a couple of years ago so things might have changed.
