LeMaquis   10 #61 Posted July 7, 2013 Don't believe a word Joyce says, the bloke is a hypocrite. You said so yourself.  He accused Unite of being irresponsible. He must have sobered up a lot to use a word with 5 syllables.
 Share this content via...

puisseguin   10 #63 Posted July 24, 2013 A poll of Unite members has revealed that more than half don't vote Labour despite the union being Labour's biggest donor.  In light of the recent bust up between McClusky and Ed Miliband over the unions conduct in trying to fix the Falkirk selection process where does this leave Labour funding if members don't want their subs supporting the party? I1L2T3 Â Â 10 #65 Posted July 24, 2013 Miliband us trying to sort it out by allowing union members to opt out of the political levy. Rightly so too. It's obviously going to hit them financially. The danger is to get funding they will become just another party of big business because that is where the really serious political funding comes from. Unless of course the whole funding issue for all the parties is resolved in some other way which would be my preference.
 Share this content via...

I'm not sure that big business thinks too much of Miliband so he has to rely on the unions, but he seems to have fallen into the trap of being bought out by them and his struggles there could lead to him loosing that funding too. A bit of a disaster isn't he?
 Share this content via...
Happ Hazzard   10 #68 Posted July 24, 2013 Unions are a joke nowadays. They don't represent working-class people, just self-interested, middle-class public sector parasites.
 Share this content via...
