Recommendations please for fully managed tenancy service

Recommended Posts

Guest

Hi,

I am wanting to rent out a house and unfortunately the company who is finding the tenant has decided not to do the fully managed service anymore.

Can anyone recommend an estate agent who offers a fully managed service at reasonable rates and has had good experiences with them? I am aware there are agencies who don't bother doing a midterm check and really take money for not doing a great deal at all, which sounds frustrating and is really not what I would want from a managed service.

Recommendations, advice and quotes would be welcome - thank you.

definitely go with that option, I've seen a house locally that was rented out for several years and you can tell it had not been checked by anyone as it had a fully grown tree higher than the house, sticking though the front fence 2 foot from the front window.

Now the tenant has moved on, a whole host of things need doing and the letting agents are carp, having told them twice that a kitchen window was open they still didn't lock it until workman started with the fixing so they didn't the workman did. If it was my house I'd be p-ssed no body had bothered to check the property for so many years.

if you can do it yourself.

But familiarise yourself with all the legislation and landlord duties which it imposes.

There are a few self-help books, plus I'd strongly recommend information sources such as:

a. Property Hawk http://www.propertyhawk.co.uk/landlordforum/index.php; and

b. LandlordZone http://www.landlordzone.co.uk/forums/forum.php?
