Rob_1   10 #25 Posted July 3, 2013 Thanks for all the replies. The post wasn't dropped by accident, it was shoved down a bush in my front garden, impossible to just drop it. I spoke to the customer services who got an man from the sheffield office to call me - it did take about 26 hours for a callback. They are going to post me an envelope to rtn the mail to them to sort. It sounds like its not royalmail who are at fault, as my house and the found mail address are on different rounds. It sounds like the mail that was found was from a communal area - so more open to petty theft. To all those who live up s2 , just to keep your eyes open to this sort of thing  I deliver to quite a lot of flats in S2, and often the occupants will leave mail on top of the letter boxes that are in the entrance lobby. Anyone could help themselves to it, in fact what you found could even be mail from my round for all I know.  I did say the postman wouldn't just open mail in the street and shove it in a hedge, shame people would rather think the worst though. rachgee   10 #26 Posted July 3, 2013 Tbh rob, I for one was guilty of pointing the finger at the postie. I live on the end of a quiet cul de sac, someone must have gone out of their way to dump this. Who better to point the finger at than the postie- who comes everyday. Especially hearing stories that this has happened before to my family's mail at s8.  I was conscious not to reflect my thoughts in the thread though. It's just proved to me not to jump to conclusions and just how easier it is to do. Cant fault the guy from the sheffield office who rang, really nice lad! Nigel Womersle   10 #27 Posted July 4, 2013 the manager at my sorting office would deal with this instantly, he would go out personally and fetch the mail and ask any relevant questions, whether he then passes it on to IB or customer services is irrelevant but he would be the best choice for the first port of call.  Yes I agree with you. Look at my previous statement. That is what I put.
 Share this content via...

kirakk   10 #31 Posted July 4, 2013 And what sorting office is that then  All of them,it is the managers job to do this.We once had a call reporting stolen royal mail uniform dumped in a field,it turned out it had been blown off the washing line from a nearby house at which a postman lived. It is the manager's duty to look at the situation, then decided what action needs to be taken if any.
 Share this content via...
