AlexAtkin   10 #13 Posted June 21, 2013 I was wondering if perhaps it automatically switched to a WiFi channel the PS3 didn't like? I always keep WiFi on a channel of my choosing, I don't trust automatic.  It could also have been BT rolled out a firmware update to the router, realised it was buggy crap and fixed it.  Either way I would highly recommend using a wired connection if at all possible. As already mentioned above, the PS3 wireless is a complete garbage and particularly if they play games online the performance will be terrible, but even downloads were really slow on mine. Also if you are on a decent broadband connection you wont even be getting close to your full speed on the PS3 over WiFi.
 Share this content via...

AlexAtkin   10 #15 Posted June 23, 2013 (edited) You have to consider however that just because several neighborhood WiFi networks are on the same channel as yours, they aren't necessarily interfering. They only interfere when actually in active use so inSSIDer doesn't necessarily give you a very accurate picture of what is going on.  If you see an empty channel with nothing using it, then great you should use it. However if you don't then its still worth trying other channels just to see if perhaps they aren't being actively used.
