mmitchell   10 #1 Posted June 16, 2013 (edited) Has the ponds at woodhouse grange been netted by any chance, only we went there last Sunday, and not just us but all the weights from the matches as well was poor. Don't know if it's been netted or a lot of fish have died. we fished the cobble lake and one after an other we were just pulling small carp out, and there was no sign of any of the big stuff ???  Next week we are thinking of going to Aston ponds, never fished them before, which pond is the best for carp fishing. Thanks Edited June 16, 2013 by mmitchell
 Share this content via...

bigsexydoug   10 #4 Posted June 19, 2013 To be honest with the spawning season around its hard to judge however I know the dog kennel and the other older match lake are shadows of their former selfs, kingfisher and the ghostie lake have been great the last few years, maybe the other lakes need a top up of smaller fish to kick start the feeding of all the fish ? Thanks  Split is the most consistant at Aston but its usually matched up at the weekends, Lilly is also decent with a good head of decent carp but plenty of silvers as well. (Forum are having Lillies next charity match on Split on 21st Sept)
 Share this content via...
sheff 13 Â Â 10 #6 Posted June 20, 2013 Doug you're right it is hard to judge around spawning times. We were at Lodge Farm yesterday on long island & lilly the fish there pull like hell, there were a few dead fish I saw what appeared to be a couple of mid doubles. I have no doubt these victims were nothing other than the effect of spawning.
 Share this content via...
