Bog cotton over near Bradfield? I think?

Recommended Posts

Hi :-)

On Sunday we went over the moors near bradfield, Langsett and Bolsover (we got a bit lost) and came across a large flat area of marsh land with lovely white flowers all over it.

Does anyone know exactly what the area is called and what these flowers might be, please? They looked a bit like photographs I have found of "Bog Cotton" on the web.

It really loked lovely in the light that we had on Sunday, and I got some nice photos, but want to label them up correctly on my archive.

Thanx

XGlenys

If you managed to get from Bradfield and Langsett to Bolsover you must have got very lost! Unless you meant two separate trips...

Bolsterstone maybe?

We used to call it cotton grass as kids - very apt name!

I think you may mean Bolsterstone too :)

Yes it is bog cotton and it's more spectacular this year than I've seen before, must be the unusual weather.

Hi Thanx all!

Yes, sorry I meant Bolsterstone. Does anyone know if that area has a more local name?

I also got Bolsover castle mixed up with Conisborough Castle the other day when we passed it on the motorway.:hihi::loopy:

So glad you cleared that up, I was scratching my head as to how you ended up at my neck of the woods from Bradfield and Langsett.
