We hear that multiculturalism is a good thing for the UK and the EU as a whole, that it enriches our lives and there is no down side to the relationship. But after reading that Dutch people think that Islam does not enrich their country and the proposed banning of Sharia, new mosques and immigration from Islamic countries, I wondered if people in the UK felt similar or could debunk this and give ways that Islam has enriched the UK?

But you see this thread asks a specific question about a specific cult. Many Muslims have enriched my life, as have many Christians, and black people, and white people, and gays, and straights.

 

By the same token I don't get on at all with some Muslims, Christians, and black people, and white people, and gays, and straights.

 

I haven't seen anything in the UK that Islam has enriched (apart from possibly architecture if you're into that kind of thing - I'm not) but then again I don't live my life in accordance with Islamic principles so I doubt I would - I'm sure those who do would have a completely different opinion.

That depends on where the culture is coming from and what the customs are. Stoning to death? Honour killings? Oppression of women in general? Leave that at door thanks.

 

Obviously anything against the law of the country they migrate to would have to be dropped. That goes without saying and the vast majority of migrants accept that.

 

But you know we don't have stonings here.

I'm all for intergration and multi cultural societies. But I'm afraid islam just isnt compatible with anything. I dont think theres a place for it in the UK

Most other religions have moved into the 20th century, if not the 21st. Islam is still stuck in the middle ages with it's attitudes towards women, "infidels", and law and order.
