Did any see the old RAF plane that flew over North Sheffield today?.

If so, what type was it?

I saw one in Derbyshire as well. It was two engined and had three stripes on the wings and fusilage.

Sounds like a Douglas DC3 Dakota.

The one in Derbyshire was a Douglas C-47 Skytrain or Dakota (RAF designation)

I saw that over Whiteley Woods too - fairly low I'd say too!

There are the remains of a Dakota in the Peak District. I know where it is but never ventured out to it. I always go to the superfortress wreckage on bleak low hill.
