simon_payne   10 #1 Posted June 6, 2013 Hi  Can anyone recommend someone to remove and replace 2 sealed double glazed units to my house windows which have cracked on the inner pane please?  Panes are approx 47x40cm and 76x38cm  Inner panes have a pattern on it to obscure it
 Share this content via...

vincentb   10 #8 Posted October 9, 2013 Spoke to plastique not keen on replacing just the glazing - want to replace entire frame. Is this the norm? Is there anyone who will replace the glazed unit?  I'm having a couple of sealed units replaced (by Sheffield Window Centre) because they've got condensation in, and here's what I just learned: They can't just replace the glass panes; they're fixed into the unit (sealed) The bit they take out and replace, the sealed unit, is a frame containing the panes This separates out cleanly from the 'outer' frame (which in my windows is movable) And the outer outer frame (the bit which is static and is attached to the walls) doesn't need replacing either  Is it possible that that is what Plastique mean when they say they need to replace the frame; it's not the entire frame, but just the inner sealed unit which holds the panes? Is there anyone who will replace the glazed unit?  No you can just replace the glass units , no need to replace the whole frame (sometimes for larger companies its not cost effective )  SPOTONWINDOWS 101 Chesterfield road S8 0RN LES 07881893432 /DAN 07557676712 They will sort you out
 Share this content via...
simon_payne   10 #10 Posted January 24, 2014 Just an update to this thread  Spot On Windows (details above) have just replaced my broken units for me  Just wanted to say, they were very efficient, did a clean and very tidy job.  Price was very reasonable. I would definitely use them again.
 Share this content via...
