Recommended Posts

Anyone on here live on spoonhill road in the late 70s early 80s? I grew up on there and had a lovely childhood and had some lovely friends but we moved and I lost touch with most f them. Woud like to get in touch and share some memories.

The nearest pub to where I lived was Deerstalker although I was too young but spent many a night outside with bottle of pop and bag of crisp!

The sign that signals the start of Stannington hasn't changed either - it's quite large and is outside the Sportsman pub where Stannington Road branches to the right and Oldfield Road to the left.

Below the Sportsman pub are the areas of Deer Park, Roscoe Bank, Woodlands and then Malin Bridge as you progress down the hill.

It really is quite simple for most of us:)

Stannington must be popular while everyone right down to Malin Bridge reckon they live there!
