Wedding Reccomendations

Recommended Posts

So, its now less than 15 weeks to my wedding, and I still need to arrange hair and make-up, flowers and cars!....I know, I know, I'm cutting it fine, but I'm not the most organised person!

What I am looking for is a hairdresser that has experience of wedding hair styles, for myself, mother of the bride, two adult bridesmaids and two children....and make up artist for said people.

I only need 1 wedding car big enough to take Mother of the bride, and 4 bridesmaids, then return for me and my 'giver awayer' (we only live 5 minutes from Church....)

And finally wedding flowers. Again, for me, the bridesmaids, and buttonholes/corsages for about 24...I don't need venue flowers as these are being provided by the church.

Can anyone recommend anyone, or are you a business that can help?

What I don't want is fuss, fuss fuss!! Simple straight forward help please :)

Thanks

Jayne

I can help with your hair accessories if you don't have those yet and / or a fascinator for your mum.

Hi there, I wonder if Betty Simmonite the florist is still in the castle market in Sheffield. She has years of experience. Alternatively, florascope at Firth Park have a great range. Good Luck.

We're using Flourish on Crookes and have found them to be really reasonable prices

I have ordered lots of flowers since booking and they've all been great!

If you don't want fuss do your own make up. I'm a bit of a stress head so I couldn't cope if I didn't like my make up or it wasn't to my taste on the day so I did my own. Saves money and saves on stress.

I also couldn't cope with being messed about or let down by a different hair dresser so I took my bridesmaids and myself to my regular hairdresser. I went in my own car and parked just outside the shop. I did try out my hairstyle in advance as I had a really long train veil which needed to stay in place in my fine (very soft, slippy/silky) hair.

forgot to add.....

My sister in law had a smallish wedding close to home. The ceremony and wedding 'do' was at the same place. We had a nice car so we put ribbons and bows on our cars and drove them ourselves. We weren't doing it for a fee so no problem with the car insurance. Can't you get a relative with a nice car to ferry you to the church?

We had our flowers from The Flower Bowl in Hillsborough - they were excellent and have plenty of sample photos on their website.

Valerie of Dore florists for the flowers and Laura's vintage limousines for the cars. Couldn't recommend either of them highly enough!!! Both got facebook pages so check them out

Ok, So I've got my flowers sorted (Sarah's) and my car (5th Avenue Limos - 3 hours hire for 230.00 including Ribbons, bows and bubbly!) I think we have our hair sorted, our regular hairdresser is going to do it, although we have to travel to her, so that just leaves makeup I think...

Thank you to all who have replied, just over 4 weeks to go! Eek...
