BEDROCK 10 #1 Posted May 22, 2013 (edited) Well, what will you opt for, specification wise the Sony has it but can Microsoft build on its hardcore fan base, the jury's out. Now apart from Sony having the faster RAM it is pretty much identical, now if Sony could offer a 1 terabyte disk drive then Microsoft will be DOA... http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-9020_7-57585484-222/xbox-one-vs-playstation-4/ Edited May 22, 2013 by BEDROCK
 Share this content via...
syne 10 #2 Posted May 23, 2013 I'll buy the xbox But I'll be miffed about paying for an intrusive bloated yet already outdated system. I already have all of the things it wants to be and the chances are Xb1 will not and could not be a replacement for a pc. I already have ssd's, and gddr5 and 3Tb+ of storage and I'm sure that within 4 years I'll have replaced it all with newer/better and that would onlly be about halfway through the lifecycle of the xbox which doesn't even have these things now. I think their ambition isn't ambitious enough should have gone with full room projecting holgrams and VRheadsets.
 Share this content via...

BEDROCK 10 #4 Posted May 23, 2013 Regarding Microsoft, not sounding good for Indie fans... Matt Booty confirms independent developers cannot publish content themselves The Xbox One will not allow indies to self-publish their games, it has been claimed. As reported by Shacknews, Redmond Game Studios and Platforms general manager Matt Booty has said that, at least for now, indies will not be able to publish content themselves. The news comes on the back of Microsoft’s decision to abolish the Xbox Live Arcade and indie game sections on the Xbox One marketplace, in favour of a new, unified store. “As as of right now, yes," he said, referring to the need for a publisher. "We intend to continue to court developers in the ways that we have.” The comments were also verified by Penny Arcade’s Ben Kuchera, who also tweeted that Booty had claimed there would be no self-publishing on the console for indies. Microsoft’s move to require publishers is in stark contrast to Sony’s tactics with the PS4, where the electronics giant has promised to allow self-publishing for indies on its own marketplace, as it currently does with the PSN. Sony also recently revealed that it would be opening up a new indie section on the PlayStation Store designed to help offer developers additional exposure. It said the section would be “constantly refreshed” with new releases and promoted games, and would be the first and best place for users to go to for indie content. “I’m delighted that the indie devs have really taken advantage of how open PlayStation is to this tremendous mix of designs and ideas, and that we’re happy to work with everything from traditional buy-and-play games, to free-to-play,” he said. Leonidas 10 #5 Posted May 24, 2013 I'll get the PS4, simply because I own every Playstation model form the PS1 on. Furthermore I prefer Sony's exclusive titles to Microsoft's. God of War, Heavy Rain, Ratchet and Clank, Little big Planet are just great games imho and I find those much more appealing than Halo e.g.
 Share this content via...

SqueakyPete 10 #7 Posted May 25, 2013 Ps4 for me,simply because I preferred the ps3 over the 360.And I can't see a big enough reason for me to change over to Microsoft. As for exclusive titles,if that was a strong enough reason,I would own a wiiu lol.
 Share this content via...

Snapshot 10 #11 Posted May 29, 2013 It will be PS4 I think, due to the following reasons: - I was unbelievably disappointed with the xbox one reveal; it looks like it going to be more like a glorified youview box than a gaming console. Plus my smart tv does all the demand tv / skype / youtube etc. anyway. - I prefer the feel of the sony controller. Never did understand why microsoft insisted on the lopsided analog sticks. - Im looking forward to the possibilities with the share button on the PS4 controller, plus the touchpad gives developers more interface options. The new xbox controller brings nothing new to the table. - Sony network is free to use. - Given the specifications quoted for both xbox and PS4, there will probably be little if any price variation between the two. The cheaper price for the 360 was its main appeal over ps3, but if the prices are the same for the next generation, then PS4 it will be for me. Leonidas 10 #12 Posted May 30, 2013 Without any doubt Xbox because I have recently buy it from ebay...Great features, video quality... You bought sth that isn't even available yet? Congratulations... I agree with all the things you mentioned, Snapshot, especially with the feel of the Sony controller. The best controller in video game history, imho!
